About Us

Two Flame Tango

Two Flame Tango was born from the desire of two artists to bring simplicity into their dance. We created a school that explores the philosophy of movement as much as the expression of it.

We offer courses for creative individuals that would like to study artistic principles through the dance of tango.

Two Flame does not teach flashy, stage or performance tango. Instead, we teach an intimate dialogue of body language.

Our Vision

A Somatic Tango Community

We focus on the direct experience of the body because everything else comes from there. By being more comfortable and skillful in your movement, you will be more comfortable and skillful in every aspect of your personal and social life. We come here to study ourselves through the other. We believe self development can be fun, accessible, social, and easy.

An Integrated Arts Education

Tango provides us with an artistic medium to develop several skills at the same time. We learn how to fine tune our body in motion. We learn musical skills and how to play this instrument of the body with rhythm and melody. And we also learn interpersonal skills. Tango is an opportunity to bring your best self to the person in your arms, which is a skill that needs practice.

It's Better with Everyone

Our doors are open to all who wish to explore movement, connection, and embodied freedom. We welcome every person: of any background, identity, expression, or circumstance. All bodies, all ages, all stories belong in this dance.

Christopher Neville

Christopher Neville

Co-Founder & Lead Instructor

Christopher is a visual artist who, in 2005, walked into a tango class, discovered an unknown universe of culture, artistic expression and human experience and never looked back. He is an AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and has been helping people study tango for more than 20 years.

Sofe Turner

Sofe Turner

Co-Founder & Lead Instructor

From the moment Sofe first stepped into a dance studio, she felt an undeniable sense of belonging—like a fish finally returning to the ocean. Without the intellectual, emotional, and physical connection that movement and music provide, she feels adrift, lost in nihilism. Thank goodness for the arts. She is currently training with AmSAT to become a certified Alexander Technique teacher and has been studying tango with Christopher since 2019.
